Helio Alves 4Subsea

Helio Alves

Helio is a Metallurgic Engineer from UFRJ (The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), his Master of Science from COPPE being a Corrosion specialisation. He worked for 15 years as an engineer in Petrobras. When the company CorrOcean entered Brazil, Helio joined as Engineering Manager to build their presence in Brazil, as he will be doing with 4Subsea going forward. When CorrOcean was sold to Force Technology, he became the Local Manager of Force, and after 6 years he joined DNV-GL as their Manager for Strategic Contracts related to subsea integrity management. Helio moved on to working with Petrobras in DNV-GL within design verification for subsea projects. After 9 years in DNV-GL, he worked independently with training and consultancy related to materials corrosion, mainly with QGEP. We are happy and proud that Helio with his solid and extensive experience has chosen to join the 4Subsea team.

Melqui Santos 4Subsea

Melqui Santos

Melqui (with the distinguished name Melquisedec – Melqui for short) has a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from the University of São Paulo. He earned his Master’s degree at the University of Campinas, Unicamp. After his studies, he joined Pirelli Umbilicals as a Development Trainee, working with new products development. After 2 years, he started in MCS (now Wood plc) as their Engineering Manager. Melqui later established his own company Subsin, offering subsea engineering services within integrity management of flexibles. His 25-employee company worked mainly with Petrobras projects between 2007-2017, collaborating with the operator on new development projects. With Melqui’s extensive knowledge and experience as well as the profile of an entrepreneur, we feel confident that our Brazil operations are in good hands going forward.
