Meet 4Subsea at Rio Oil & Gas

Asker, September 23rd 2022 – 4Subsea will be attending Rio Oil & Gas next week. Taking place at the Olympic Boulevard in Rio de Janeiro from the 26 – 29 September, the event is the largest energy conference in Latin America.

More than 350 companies will come together to address the theme of the conference – a future with a sea of possibilities to break new ground with innovation and sustainability.

Located in the Subsea Integration Alliance/Subsea7 office just outside the Rio Oil & Gas space, our experts will be on hand to discuss its solutions.

Our team has a schedule of activities planned for the week which will showcase its technology:

  • Tuesday 27 at 10:40am – Lucas Santos and Melqui Santos will be discussing our annulus testing for integrity assessment of flexible pipes and will showcase a case study from the Bauna field, located in the Santos Basin, Brazil, The presentation will be held in Lounge 2 within the exhibition.

The following presentations will take place at the Subsea Integration Alliance/Subsea 7 office just outside the Rio Oil & Gas space located at Av. Rodrigues Alves, 261, Gamboa.

  • Wednesday 28 at 09:00am – Daniel Lobo will be discussing the 4insight® platform which is used to improve vessel operability in marine operations. Traditional approaches based on simplified weather can potentially introduce inaccurate limitations or even unnecessary conservatism in marine operations. This talk will discuss how it is possible to improve vessel operability by combining sensors with data analytics to provide the most accurate vessel motion prediction five days ahead.
  • Wednesday 28 at 10:00am – Øystein Kanestrøm will share his take on offshore wind based on oil and gas experience. This talk “Bringing life and longevity to offshore wind with advanced sensor technology” will look at the similar challenges offshore wind shares with oil and gas when it comes to soil support issues, scouring, corrosion, cable and mooring failures, and structural capacity and fatigue.
  • Wednesday 28 at 16:00pm – 4Subsea will join Shell in a discussion on monitoring and digitalization as a tool for asset integrity management. Monitoring vessel and riser dynamic response can potentially improve global response predictions of flexible risers. In combination with the most updated models and insight from research, this can be used in life extension projects to ensure a safe continuity of operation and improve the support of critical operations.
