In 4Subsea you will be working for a Microsoft Gold partner using the technology that is best suited for the job, with primary focus on cloud and edge technology. You will be in a position to make an impact and be involved in the complete journey from sensor data to end users while developing software that is used globally.  

The Digital Solutions Team, consisting of software developers, architects and data scientists have a lean start-up mindset and are the “hub in the wheel” within our company, working on core digital services that 4Subsea delivers including web applications, python tools, and large-scale data streaming services.

Who are we looking for?  

Simply put: A good software developer with two years or more experience.  You have experience from using Microsoft technologies, and work experience, or great interest for, modern web technologies. You are familiar with patterns for developing highly available, user friendly and scalable solutions, and perhaps most importantly: You must care about software craftmanship and great design, both in “the visuals” and in the code you write.

Data Scientist

In the role as data scientist, you will work in the Well Intervention and Drilling department and work closely with other relevant teams. Delivering high quality digital services built for the cloud, this includes 4Subsea’s group of software developers. We have a strong focus on combining our academic skills with operational offshore experience, to understand the operations and systems we are involved in. Our unique competency is combining strong engineering capabilities, domain knowledge, and offshore experience with software skills and sensor technology.

 

The role includes
  • Taking part in deliveries and development of 4Subsea’s services, from planning to operational support associated with well intervention and drilling operations.
  • Using your skills to produce insights from sensor data and analysis models to strengthen our existing services and develop new services and algorithms.

 

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to long-term development of our services. This includes the use of 4Subsea’s Data Reservoir, containing measurement data (sensor and streaming data) and analysis results, to gain insights, develop and design predictive models and increase efficiency in engineering processes. Results will form basis for applications to be consumed by our customers.
  • Contribute to actively form data insight/machine learning competence of 4Subsea.
  • Assist in SWIM (subsea wellhead integrity monitoring) deliveries, including daily updates of wellhead integrity status for ongoing operations.
  • Visualise and present results, e.g. on Microsoft PowerBI analytics tool.
  • In collaboration with our software developer group, contribute to implementing domain specific code for applications on 4Subsea’s digital platform. Implantations primarily in Python code.
  • Take part in engineering projects and run FE-analysis models of marine riser systems to gain experience and bridge the gap between analysis results and measurement data.
  • Some offshore work (installation of sensors) should be expected.

 

Requirements
  • Two or more years of professional experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or Computer Science
  • Programming skills, preferably in Python.

 

Preferred candidate profile
  • Experience with data mining and machine learning techniques
  • Experience with sensor data
  • Ability to work in a team, share knowledge and learn from others
  • Curious, open minded and full of initiative
  • Strong language skills. Proficiency in English.

Riser Analysis Engineer

We are searching for a Riser Analysis Engineer working with delivery of services and projects related to engineering and operational support within well intervention and drilling. We have a strong focus on combining our academic skills with operational offshore experience, to understand the operations and systems we are involved in. We use advanced riser analysis models, combined with measurement data and analysis results structured in our data reservoir, to deliver high-end results to enable operations for our customers.

 

Responsibilities
  • Work with project deliveries related to drilling and workover operations. Tasks include building and running global riser FE analysis models in OrcaFlex. Post process results to establish operating envelopes or loads on subsea equipment. Communicate with customers, define and clarify scope, present results etc.
  • Use and contribute to the development of the 4Subsea Engineering Python library with pre- and post-processing code.
  • Contribute to developing our engineering processes and digital services. Use 4Subsea’s Data Reservoir of measurement and analysis results to gain insights and improve analysis models.
  • Visualise and present results on e.g. Microsoft PowerBI analytics tool.
  • Some offshore work related to installing our sensors should be expected.
  •  You will typically work with FE models of marine riser and workover riser systems. We use OrcaFlex as our preferred FE analysis tool.

 

Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Physics, Marine or Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong academic results
  • Some programming skills, preferably in Python
  • Graduate level, less than two years of professional experience is sufficient

 

Preferred candidate profile
  • Ability to work in a team, share knowledge and learn from others
  • Curious, open minded and full of initiative
  • Strong language skills. Proficiency in English.
